Job Description

A Roustabout Laborer is tasked with manual labor tasks such as shoveling, raking, and loading and unloading supplies. In addition, the position requires the skills needed for operation of a pressure washer, ladders, pumps, and valves. The roustabout laborer assists Equipment Operators during loading and unloading of heavy equipment. The roustabout laborer will spot heavy equipment during excavation and operation to ensure clearance of above ground and underground utilities is maintained. The equipment operator ensures that the tools he or she is about to use is in good working order, and then follows all relevant procedures and protocols while using it.

The roustabout laborer must carefully follow the directives of acting site supervisors. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Shovel soil for remediation or underground line spotting.

· Assist equipment operator with maintaining clearance from underground and above ground hazards or obstacles.

· Pressure wash and clean impacted equipment and tanks.

· Load supplies and tools for transportation to job site and daily use.

· Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.

· Maintain a clean and presentable jobsite.

· Must use proper lifting technique while performing lifting tasks.

· Must have adequate mechanical aptitude to operate pressure washers, ladders, pumps, and valves.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

· High school diploma or GED preferred.

· 0- 2 years experience.

· Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Company and insurance carrier standards and policies.

· Able to travel to jobsites during all phases of a project and able to travel to jobsites which may be remote.

· Must be able to work as a team.

· Motor vehicle driving record that is consistent with Company and insurance carrier standards and policies.

· Must able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

· Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and climb ladders for extended periods of time.

· Must have strong work ethic, be a self starter, a problem solver, and a team player.

· Must be able to wear any required PPE.

· Ability to obtain HAZWOPER 40 and other necessary certifications as required.

· Review and adhere to federal, state, and local guidelines.

· Adhere to QA/QC procedures.

· Ability to professionally communicate with clients on jobsites.

· Able to perform heavy lifting; minimum 50 pounds.

WORK CONDITIONS:

· Ability to work outside year round in all types of weather conditions.

· Ability to travel as required by position.

· Available to work extended hours as required by project schedules or urgent schedules.

MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS:

Depending on an individual’s job duties, the Company may require an individual to complete a medical examination.
