Public Education Specialist (PUBL EDUC SPEC 2) Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor 2, responsible for scheduling and implementation of continuing education courses for Human Services. Plan events, conferences, symposiums, convenings and meetings. Provide overall management for contract-related and county-specific projects, including fiscal responsibility of the program and overseeing instructor compensation, facilities and catering. Review class evaluations and provide feedback and new program ideas to supervisor. Consult with client agencies and instructors to determine client needs for training. Establish and adhere to project procedures to guarantee completion of contract goals. Provide quality customer service, assist with the development of new projects, assist with administrative team projects, participate in/attend unit and department-wide meetings and committees. Provide onsite and virtual support for trainings, institutes, conferences, and special programs. Assist with compiling program data and creating reports.

- Project management experience to include defining goals, organizing and scheduling complex projects, coordinating project execution and managing teams. Analytical skills to identify issues, compare data and develop goals or plans for resolution and implementation.
- Experience developing, analyzing and implementing a budget.
- Experience in marketing, outreach and communications. Experience drafting, editing and producing correspondence, reports, fliers, forms and presentations.
- Experience in using databases. Experience using computerized financial systems to prepare financial reports and forms. Experience in MS Office in a Windows environment to use electronic mail, Internet, Microsoft Office, database systems and spreadsheets.
- Experience working in a team and establishing relationships with people from diverse backgrounds including staff, faculty and agency clients. Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact professionally and effectively in person, on the telephone, online and via email.
- Organizational and time management skills to manage, track, and work on multiple and simultaneous complex tasks.
Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of Destiny and Zoom.
- Knowledge of the field of human services.

Department Overview UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) is the lifelong learning arm of the university. The division maintains the most diverse portfolio on the campus, with programs spanning pre-college, professional continuing education, workforce development, international academic and cultural exchange, and training services for corporate and agency partners. As a global leader in continuing education, CPE serves learners regionally, nationally and globally, and posts more than 55K enrollments annually making it the third largest UC Extension by enrollment. Beyond its community-facing role, CPE serves as the internal hub for online education in support of other academic units on the campus. CPE employs approximately 180 employees and draws on the expertise of approximately 1,700 instructors.
Position Information - Salary or Pay Range: $24.19/hr. - $43.44/hr. (Budgeted salary range $24.19/hr. - $33.81/hr. Placement in range commensurate with experience.)

Physical Demands - Must be able to lift 25 lbs. with or without accommodations.
Work Environment - Overnight and out of town travel may be required.
