Job Description

Description of the role: The medication aide is responsible for assisting with the administration of medication to residents in a safe and efficient manner. They will work closely with nursing staff to ensure the proper distribution and documentation of medications. Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications to residents according to prescribed dosage and schedule
  • Assist residents with medication reminders and ensure medications are taken as directed
  • Document medication administration and any observed side effects or adverse reactions
  • Communicate with nursing staff to report any changes or concerns regarding medications or residents' health
  • Maintain accurate and organized medication records
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding medication administration
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the nursing staff or management
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid medication aide certification in the state of Georgia
  • Prior experience in medication administration is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
