Title: Hydrogen Generation Electrolyzers Commissioning Specialist

KBR is looking for a Hydrogen Generation Electrolyzers Commissioning Specialist who will be responsible executing commissioning activities of Green Hydrogen Production Facility that brings green field Hydrogen Production Facility from construction to full operation.
***This is for a future opportunity and the role will start in Houston, TX and then mobilize to site in Oklahoma*** The Hydrogen Generation Electrolyzers Commissioning Specialist interface with internal teams, contractors, clients, OEM vendors and any additional outside entities that play a role in the pre-commissioning / Commissioning and startup process.
This role requires excellent mechanical aptitude including the following:
- High degree of familiarity with green hydrogen production and liquefaction systems and performance
- Ability to be flexible to maintain project timelines
- Ability to communicate effectively among cross-functional departments
The Hydrogen Generation Electrolyzers Commissioning Specialist will interface with internal teams, contractors, clients, OEM vendors and any additional outside entities that play a role in the pre-commissioning / Commissioning and startup process.
Responsibilities: - Planning and performing pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup of large alkaline electrolyzers Hydrogen production trains
- Conduct commissioning, startup and bring systems to operations
- conduct inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing of integrated fuel cell electrolyzers, associated power generation units
- Must be highly knowledgeable with the operation and troubleshooting of industrial gas systems and components
- Act as SME for construction contractor, project managers, and client while on site.
- Develop and lead electrolyzers trains Commissioning
- Point to Point functionality testing
- Pressure testing of piping systems per ASME standards
- Work closely with construction contractors to define mechanical completion and define commissioning stages and requirements
- Conduct Vendors documentation reviews such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical specifications
Education, Experience, & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field with experience in construction and commissioning of high and medium voltage industrial infrastructure
- 4 + years of directly related experience with an average experience ranging from 6 - 10 years
- Construction, commissioning, and operation of industrial gas utility infrastructure including but not limited to: Safe operations of equipment Understanding controls philosophies, electrical wiring schematics (electrician experience preferred)
- Planning and leading all commissioning activities for Electrolyzers trains as part of Green Hydrogen Production facility
- Safe operation and control of combustibles.
- Ability to diagnose system problems and troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, and P&IDs
- Demonstrated ability to interact with clients and external vendors professionally and effectively
- Must be able to
- operate independently with minimal supervision while achieving high quality results in work assignments
- adapt to changing requirements and meet project commitments/objectives without sacrificing workmanship or quality
- Maintain a focus around safety in all aspects of work and ensure that all relevant parties are educated on the safe operation of hydrogen equipment and infrastructure
- Provide on the job training to new commissioning specialists as needed Perform all other duties as assigned and required within role
- High level of skill with electrical and mechanical systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair
- Ability to diagnose system failures and isolate root cause Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with computerized commissioning completion reporting systems
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Industrial gas systems experience highly preferred
