Database Manager (Full Time, Temporary)

POSITION OBJECTIVES

The Database Manager will oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of the donor database to support fundraising efforts at Theodore Payne Foundation. This role is critical in ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and analytics to drive the organization's development strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and experience with donor management systems. This position reports to the Executive Director. This is full-time temporary, in-person position located at our headquarters in Sun Valley, CA.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the member and donor database, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and security of data.
  • Process membership and donation transactions, and ensure constituent profiles are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Generate and mail membership renewal letters on a monthly basis.
  • Track and manage donor acknowledgment processes, including thank-you letters and receipts.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports for leadership staff to support fundraising efforts and donor stewardship.
  • Transfer historic data from past databases to ensure the current donor database is comprehensive and up-to-date.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in database management, preferably in a nonprofit or fundraising environment.
  • Proficiency with Shopify eCommerce platform, Bloomerang donor management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter; able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRABLE QUALITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g. CCPA) is a plus.

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Tuesday-Saturday 8:30AM-5:00PM.

Pay rate: $30/hour
