GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS Perform entry level professional duties of moderate difficulty providing the opportunity for professional training in various offices throughout the City. Perform assigned duties to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance. Specific activities vary by department. Work is performed under direct supervision.
This internship is with the RP Funding Center at 701 W. Lime Street in Lakeland, FL. Interns will work a maximum of 29 hours a week. This internship begins in September. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Assist the Marketing Department with advertising of all shows. (Receiving proposals, negotiating and placement of ads in Print, Radio, TV, Billboard, Internet)
- Help proofread print ad copy, radio spot copy, press releases, weekly e-blasts, etc.
- Support the marketing department with maintaining and updating social media sites and online event calendars
- Promote the entertainment complex by grassroots efforts on ticketed events, i.e. flyers, street team
- Assist with producing collateral materials (ad layouts, brochures and promotional)
- Updating Media lists, VIP lists, and group sales lists
- Organize and maintain marketing files, i.e. digitizing news clippings
- Conducting marketing/show research
- Prepares and presents new business proposals
- Creates sales marketing social media posts, print and digital marketing ads
- Assists with general administrative duties as necessary, including, but not limited to, generating reports, filing and preparing expense reports.
- Assist with departmental projects

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE) Enrollment
as a Junior or Senior in an accredited college or university in a major relating to Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

- Skill in communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, and to request clarification when needed
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS: - Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis, routine keyboard operations
- The job risks exposure to no significant environmental hazards
- The job requires normal visual acuity, and field of vision, hearing and speaking
