Job Description

The Clinical Consultant is accountable for leading the clinical implementation of our software clinical solutions for clients, ensuring successful development, customization, and adoption of the clinical product. This individual ensures clinical relevancy and optimal end-user application of data science models which underpin PAA’s technology portfolio. This is a highly visible role requiring understanding of clinical workflows and product development, project management skills, autonomy, leadership, a strategic mindset, and strong client relationship management. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as primary client clinical counterpart to drive new discoveries and knowledge depth related to clinical focus areas and bring forward opportunities and solutions
  • Consolidate and report client feedback to our product team  
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with client leadership as well as internal leadership
  • Analyze and apply client contract details to facilitate program workflows that are in alignment with client needs
  • Support and drive adoption of clinical workflows to achieve market KPIs
  • Provide clinical partnership with Product stakeholders on clinical product workflow solutioning
  • Provide subject matter expertise on CMS SNF criteria for internal and external business partners
  • Support algorithm research, development, and maintenance for the purpose of processing post-acute data to uncover opportunities that lead to less than desirable outcomes that impact market KPIs and quality outcomes
  • Innovate PAA’s review process through research, data analytics, and trending
  • Assist data science team with clinical model validation
  • Participate in clinical quality and review process to track the quality of services provided
  • Provide training sessions to Care Navigator and Acute Discharge Planner teams as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of experience.
  • Rich experience within the Post-Acute Care space, care management, utilization/resource management processes and disease management programs
  • 5+ years of advanced clinical experience required
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary care teams, including nurses, therapists, social workers, case managers
  • Knowledge of NCQA and URAC standards are a plus
  • Excellent analytic skills
  • Must be able to positively interact with other clinicians, senior management, and all levels of medical and non-medical professionals
  • Experience in client-facing, client management roles strongly desired
  • Experience in project management and program implementations
  • Self-starter who is detail oriented with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment with internal staff in a wide variety of clinical and IT areas
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority

System Experience:

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Tableau or Qlik (Data Reporting Systems)
  • Healthcare EMAR Systems (Epic, Cerner, Point Click Care)
  • Smartsheet (Tracking System, Project Management)

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Active, unrestricted registered clinical license required – Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist
  • Certification in Case Management (Commission for Case Management Certification (CCMC); Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) if appropriate) is a plus
