We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Billing and Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. Job Responsibilities - Review and process invoices and issue bills to clients or customers - Ensure timely collection of payments and conduct account reconciliations - Prepare and submit payroll information by gathering employee time records and approved timesheets - Calculate employee pay based on hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime - Process payroll deductions such as tax withholdings, benefits, and garnishments - Maintain accurate financial records for billing and payroll transactions - Resolve discrepancies in billing and payroll records by investigating and coordinating with relevant departments - Update and maintain payroll and billing databases with new hires, terminations, changes in salary and benefits - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions - Prepare reports summarizing billing and payroll activities for management review - Respond to billing and payroll-related queries from employees and clients - Collaborate with HR, accounting, and other departments to ensure smooth operation of billing and payroll processes - Stay current with payroll software updates and billing software to optimize the efficiency of financial operations - Handle and safeguard confidential and sensitive information with integrity
Job Requirements - - Proven experience in billing and payroll processing - Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with general ledger operations - Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel - Understanding of applicable laws and regulations regarding payroll, taxation, and employee benefits - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Excellent organizational and time-management skills - Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financial and employee information - Capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines - Strong numerical aptitude and data entry skills - Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal - Experience with timekeeping and scheduling systems - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment - Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar credential is preferred - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues - Experience with financial reporting and reconciliation of payroll accounts
